The Archibald Library is getting an extreme makeover!
After 14 years, 4 million customers, and over 7 million books and other items checked out, the Archibald Library is getting a facelift. Library staff, architects, interior designers, and library stakeholders are busily working to give the Archibald Library a new look and feel.
Included in the remodel will be new carpeting, paint and furniture, a new roof, a new air conditioning and heating system, an enclosed and expanded technology center, a redesigned story theater, and lots of new books!
The makeover should take approximately two months to complete and is scheduled to begin on June 14, 2008. During this time, the Archibald Library will be closed to the public. But don't worry - the Biane Library at Victoria Gardens will be available for your library needs, including the Summer Reading Club.
We ask that you pardon our progress during those months, but in September, you will be glad you did! Stay tuned for more exciting updates and information!
